Mageina Tovah is a filmmaker, actor, writer, and visual artist. She is known for her acting work in television and film, including Spider-Man 2 & 3, American Horror Story, How to Get Away with Murder, Scandal, You’re the Worst, Joan of Arcadia, and The Shield. Mageina is also recognized for her early work in music videos, such as Christina Aguilera’s hit Beautiful. Mageina directed, wrote, produced, edited, and stars in the award winning film Hux, which has screened at festivals around the world, including Edinburgh International Film Festival in Scotland, Raindance Film Festival in England, Foyle Film Festival in Ireland, and Florida Film Festival in the United States.

Mageina’s work as a visual artist has been likened to Edward Gorey and Tim Burton, and is a featured component of the production design of Hux. Being a longtime advocate of animal welfare, Mageina has for years donated her artwork to fundraisers benefiting shelter animals.

For over a decade, Mageina collaborated with acclaimed author Ray Bradbury and his Pandemonium Theatre Company. Currently you can find Mageina on SYFY’s The Magicians where she plays Zelda, The Head Librarian.
