Mpho Koaho most recently starred as ‘Ken’ on Dirk Gently’s Holistic Detective Agency for BBC America and he will next be seen co-starring opposite Henry Cavilll and Ben Kingsley in Nomis. Koaho also co-starred in the Relativity film Black or White, opposite Kevin Costner and Octavia Spencer for writer/director Mike Binder. The Hollywood Reporter said of his performance, “The rest of the cast is excellent starting with Spencer… to the terrific young Koaho, who sparks the most laughs with his depiction of an African immigrant who’s the smartest guy in the room and not afraid to say it.” Koaho also starred for many seasons on Falling Skies for TNT. Other television credits include recurring roles on The Expanse for SyFy and Hell on Wheels for AMC as well as the Canadian mini-series Soul, for which he won a Gemini Award in 2009, and a critically acclaimed guest lead performance on the CBS series Flashpoint, for which he was also nominated for a Gemini Award.

Koaho began his career when Maya Angelou cast him as the young lead in her film Down in the Delta for Miramax and he has continued to work steadily ever since. D.J. Caruso cast Koaho in The Salton Sea and he has gone on to roles in Four Brothers for John Singleton, Get Rich or Die Tryin for Jim Sheridan, and Blindness for Fernando Meirelles. Other film credits include: Saw III, Haven and It’s A Boy Girl Thing.

Koaho currently resides in Toronto.
